Our History
The Redheughers were established in 1984, growing out of workshops in traditional dance and the associated music held in the Redheugh Library in Gateshead. This proved so popular it has been running ever since. We are proud to have been one influence in the early development of Folkworks, the folk music development agency for the north of England. Folkworks in turn is one of the founding partners of The Sage Gateshead.
