The Redheughers are a ceilidh band in Gateshead in northeast England specialising in dance tunes from Northumbria and the Scottish Borders. We are an independent group meeting alongside the weekly Caedmon Folk sessions run in The Sage Gateshead by Folkworks.

If you wish to come and join us, feel free to drop in to a tutorial/rehearsal session. If you decide to join us, the fee is £30 per quarter or £5 per week. During the folkworks terms, we meet at 6pm in The Sage Gateshead, downstairs in the Music Education Centre. We are there every week except the first Tuesday in the month. Outside the Caedmon Folk terms we will also meet in The Sage, provided a room is available, but it might be advisable to check the website or contact us first to confirm this.

On the first Tuesday in the month, we play regularly for a ceilidh. From October 2009, this will be held in the newly refurbished Gateshead Old Town Hall, known affectionately as the GOTH. The ceilidh runs from 8pm until 10:30pm with a short interval. You would be most welcome to come and dance. The venue is accessible by road, metro and bus. There is parking nearby.

Our normal ceilidh venue, Caedmon Hall in Gateshead Central Library (Prince Consort Road, Gateshead, NE8 4LN) is currently being refurbished.
